Message to my future self
The Sovereign Quest April Challenge is to write about what you would include in a message to your future self.
We often hear variants on the question “what lessons would you tell your younger self, if you could go back in time?”
Responses vary, but typically include sage admonishments to apply hard won life lessons.
“Invest early. Often. Patiently.”
“Don’t worry so much about what other people think.”
“Slow down. Take the time to consciously enjoy the journey. Travel. Love. Laugh. Dance.”
Learning lessons from past mistakes is an important step towards not repeating them. However, we can’t change the past. What we can do is focus on what we can control, which poses a far more useful question: what would you tell your future self, if you could go forward in time?
